Articulate your vision, find your voice, grow your career

WHO

Are you :-

-          contemplating a career change into ‘green’?

-          searching for a new job you’re passionate about?

-          trying to create and start filling a pipeline of opportunities that will result in what you really want in your life and career?

Do you want to :-

-          create an opportunity for yourself as the ‘green guru’ at work?

-          move forward with your career in your current organization but aren’t sure where to start?

-          improve how you sell yourself to your current and future boss(es) and clients?

Despite, the economic downturn and competitive marketplace, it IS possible to achieve what you want to achieve. However, your success is directly related to how clearly you can articulate your vision for yourself, and channel this vision to create your future. The more clearly you can articulate your unique vision for your work, your life, and your world – and what needs to be taken care of to achieve it – the more powerful the impact you will have.

WHAT

This 3-hr introductory evening will help you begin to create and articulate a vision for yourself by working through the following questions: Who am I? What do I really believe in? What scares me? What holds me back? What is the best use of my talents, skills and passion? You will begin to understand and express what's unique about you, what skills and attributes you possess, what you need to get ahead and how to get what you want and need in order to progress.

The evening will be interactive and will include fun experiential exercises, small and large-group working sessions . You will also hear a story from an inspirational woman who is currently in the process of articulating her vision, finding her voice and using it to take her career to the next level.

WHO IS THE FACILITATOR?

Facilitator Deborah Huisken is an international business coach and consultant who spent the early part of her career in small entrepreneurial organizations, one of which took her to Europe. Deborah changed careers and moved from being an employee in other people’s companies to creating her own businesses and helping other people start and build theirs. Deborah holds a PCC from the International Coach Federation. Her joy is helping clients find and express what they alone can bring into the world.

SPEAKER:

Azara Issifu, Parent Educator, Family Group Conferencing

Azara Issifu is a Parent Educator coordinating Independent Family Group Conferences.  Family Group Conferencing is a voluntary, child-centered meeting of family members and others in the community close to the family who come together to discuss and plan the best ways to deal with family difficulties.

Some of the challenges she has addressed through coaching have included:

- How to help other stakeholders understand and value the work she does
- How to sustain herself while doing her work
- How to empower her clients - the families and young people she serves.

Pamela Ravasio, Ethical Fashion Consultant & Writer, Shirahime http://shirahime.ch

Pamela has been in a career (and life!) transition for the past 2 years, from a role in medical information systems in Japan, to roles with Japanese NGOs, to her most recent role as a freelance market researcher, writer, and collaborator with the Ethical Fashion Forum here in London.

A work in process, she will share what she's been learning about how to articulate her vision, find her voice, identify what she does and does not want from her career, and how that's led to her having a ringside seat at London Fashion Week and the Paris Ethical Fashion Show!

The Forge, located in London, is a brand new architecturally-designed sustainable building. All spaces have been created with environmental concerns in mind and feature natural insulation and ventilation systems, the extensive use of sustainable materials and solar thermal panels for hot water. The centrepiece is a stunning glazed courtyard with its own ‘living wall’ of plants which improves the air quality throughout the venue.

The Forge is a not-for-profit family-run venue designed by Burd Haward Architects who worked with Arup Acoustics for the delicate acoustic result.

The Forge is part of a larger multi-use space which consists of Caponata, a Sicilian Ristorante, Osteria and Bar which serves delicious food, all handmade and prepared on-site.

Caponanta and The Forge are currently our official venue partners.
