Europe has a leading position already in wind and solar power thanks to government help. But chief executives from across the continent told the Financial Times that could be extended into other areas.
Carlos Ghosn, chief executive of carmaker Renault, underlined it as the area where Europe could flourish in the future. "There will be a big role for Europe in those technologies where there is a collaborative effort between private sector and governments such as electric cars," he said. "Europe will be one of the leaders in this area."
