Regulator sees more green jobs

The Obama administration's announcement Monday that greenhouse gases pose a threat to public health will lead to heavier regulation and may spur New Jersey's efforts to create more energy from wind and solar, the state's top environmental regulator said.
Acting Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Mark Mauriello said that a national cap and trade program similar to one that New Jersey participates in regionally will have to be developed to curb carbon dioxide emissions released from power plants, factories and automobiles.
"It can only help us deal with other problems like reducing our reliance on fossil fuels and spurring job growth," he said.
